Vision: The CEAV vision is that all young people leave school confident that they can manage their Career Development.

Mission: The CEAV’s mission is to support members to:

• improve and extend the quality of their career education programmes
• promote career development as a lifelong process and;
• increase the capacity of young people to make informed career choices

Objectives: The CEAV objectives are to:

• successfully advocate the status of Career Education in schools
• provide quality, targeted and timely professional learning delivered in innovative and flexible modes
• facilitate effective Careers Education policy formulation and implementation
• facilitate effective stakeholder communication.

Profile: The Career Education Association of Victoria is a state based not for profit association that represents school-based careers practitioners and related professionals. It is a member of the Victorian Council of Professional Teaching Associations (CPTAV). Our membership is currently approximately 650. This includes school staff in the careers role, VET coordinators, MIPS coordinators (Victorian government schools program) and Work Experience Coordinators.

The prime role of the association is to provide professional development to members. This occurs via training courses, workshops and seminars, conferences, special projects, email information distribution, phone advice, a monthly enews, quarterly suppliment, professional journal, inhouse publications, bookshop facilities and other activities.

The CEAV provides consulting services to government, industry, schools and other educational and training institutions.
