Australian Blueprint for Career Development
The Australian Blueprint for Career Development is a framework for designing, implementing and evaluating career development programs for young people and adults. At its core, the Blueprint identifies the skills, attitudes and knowledge that individuals need to make sound choices and to effectively manage their careers.
The Australian Blueprint for Career Development (“the Blueprint”) has the potential to change the way Australians think about career education, information and guidance programmes.
The Blueprint has multiple goals but its primary aim is to have users work with a national framework of career competencies to create comprehensive, effective and measurable career development programs which help Australians to better manage their lives, learning and work.
An issues paper 'Managing Life, Learning and Work in the 21st Century' by Dr Mary McMahon, Professor Wendy Patton and Mr Peter Tatham is associated with the Blueprint.
The 2008 refinement of the Blueprint was a joint initiative of the Federal, State and Territory Governments.
